For our client, a worldwide operating Private Bank, we seek to recruit a high calibre candidate to support the operational risk team in Geneva.
Key Accountabilities:
Acts as a point of contact to the business and provides expert counsel on appropriate implementation of the operational risk management framework. Provides guidance on:
- Issues Management (Risk Issues, Accepted Risk, Managing Non-Compliance)
- Alert Management
- Risk Assessments
- Loss Event reporting
- Divisional Event Escalation Reports (DEER) or Group Notifiable Events (GNEPs)
- Control Environment Certification
- Group Policy Standards
- Ensures compliance with all relevant policies that are the responsibility of Operational Risk.
- Plays a key role in the identification, escalation and mitigation of potential or actual operational risks (i.e. by means of state of the art risk review activities) and in the co-ordination of processes concerning risk issues identified, Notifiable events and Loss Data collection.
- Participates in business and operational risk related projects and initiatives.
- Advise staff on regulatory matters
- Monitor and review processes which are relevant from a regulatory point of view
- Collaborate with compliance teams of the bank’s foreign branches as well from the Division and Group
- Providing direct liaison and ongoing operational risk support and guidance to the Geneva Branch Business/Risk. Managers
- Performance of independent risk reviews and special investigations, focused on the Geneva Branch, in accordance with the entities Operational Risk Monitoring methodology/plan
Principal advisor to the business on Strategic Risk Programme activities as they relate to:
- Operational Risk (i.e. consult and advise on the Geneva’s First Line of defence test programme).
- Operational Risk representative on any Change Programmes/Projects
- Operational Risk co-ordinator and principle representative for NPAP
- Principle point of contact for Business Process Change(s)
- Business interface with the PB Control, Supervision and Oversight Programme
- Co-ordinate the twice-a-year Control Environment Certification process according to Divisional guidance and draft the Head of the Branch certificate.
- Contributes towards the development of a sound operational risk culture within the Geneva-Branch (i.e. Performance of Risk and Fraud related awareness trainings and / or operational risk self assessments (ORSA’s)).

- At least 10 years financial services experience. Practical experience as a risk manager and / or an internal auditor would be an asset.
- Extensive working knowledge of operational risk practices.
- Understanding of operational risk issues and their commercial impacts.
- Proven track record of strong relationship skills at all levels both internally and externally.
- Strong knowledge of private banking, asset management, financial products preferable.
- Ability to deliver against routine commitments in a timely, high quality manners
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent.
- Good Spanish, French and English language skills, both written and verbal are required
- An awareness of our clients' products, systems and procedures would be beneficial
- Structured and methodical approach to problem identification and resolution.
- Conceptual thinker.Self disciplined, absolutely reliable and mature and strong in getting things fixed.
